This series is composed of four classes that are designed to give participants a better understanding of techniques that are used to make watercolor paintings. Classes will be taught by the talented professional Faye Barber-Schmuhl.
The goal of this class is to get interested participants working towards creating original, quality work. Students will experiment with their choice of subject matter and develop their own style.
Each class will include a how to demo, all of the of one-on-one guidance needed, lots of time for questions and answers, and a final critique.
Some materials will be included, but each participant should have their own watercolor supplies, such as paints, brushes, paper and drawing supplies (supply list is available if interested, email instructor at firstname.lastname@example.org).
September 7: Creating Textures: Participants will begin work on three paintings, each employing techniques that create exciting, complex textures.
September 14: Mixing up Media: Participants will incorporate the use of other media like pen and ink, watercolor crayons and pencils into their paintings.
September 21: Making Collages: Participants will experiment with combo of collage materials and watercolors.
September 28: Bringing it Together: Participants will create a landscape (flowers or abstract painting of choice) and finalize their previous projects.
