The Summer Market is Back!

It must be summer! Town Square farm market favorites like The Garden Center, Thunderbird Bakery and Oft’s Flock and Feather Farm will return for the Market at Town Square which begins Friday, May 13 from 3 to 6 p.m. The market, held outside on Town Square’s front lawn, takes place every Friday through September 23.

“Green Lake is lucky to be surrounded by passionate farmers and artisans who love sharing their handmade goods with our community,” said director Fran Hill. “The Market at Town Square offers a taste of our vibrant local farm and artisan economy all in one convenient place.”

The market features a variety of locally-produced artisan products such as fresh-cut flowers, pasture-raised eggs, homegrown and organic produce, baked goods, and handmade items. Prospective vendors can participate by applying online or by visiting the Town Square front desk during business hours.

Live music will be provided by Americana, folk and country musician Peter Brush, who has been playing and writing songs for over 25 years. Throughout the summer, The Boys and Girls Club of the Tri-County Area will offer activities for children. Vendors change throughout the season so there is always something new to discover.

The Market at Town Square is supported by Compeer Financial’s Fund for Rural America, the Farm Credit cooperative’s giving program, and was awarded a $1,000 Farmers Market Grant.

“Farmers markets bring fresh, healthy foods directly to communities in an accessible way,”  said Karen Schieler, senior corporate giving specialist at Compeer Financial. “Many markets have had to make changes and navigate the challenges presented during the pandemic. Through these grants, we hope to recognize the huge asset that farmers markets are to our communities – rural, suburban and urban alike.”
