Larry Gundrum, who has served on Green Lake Renewal’s board of directors for the past two years, has been named executive director of Green Lake Renewal’s Town Square Community Center. He will be responsible for planning, executing and leading all Town Square initiatives, including programming, events, and project development, as well as overseeing Town Square’s Green Lake Kitchens, Green Lake Fitness and Mill Pond Terrace, the new outdoor event venue opening this summer on the north side of Town Square.

Starting January 21, 2019, Moraine Park Technical College will offer a five-week business startup series of classes at Town Square Community Center. Classes will run on Monday evenings from 5:30 to 8:25 pm through February 18. Non-program students may register after Open Registration begins on December 5, 2018. Pat Ehrenberg is exhibiting her award-winning quilts at Town Square for the fourth year. Ehrenberg has been an avid quilter for more than 30 years. Her art work has been featured throughout the world, from the Smithsonian Folk Life Festival in Washington, DC to the People’s Day Festival in Chiba, Japan.
The artists of the corner store co-op will host a holiday sale and open house on Saturday, December 15 at Town Square Community Center in Downtown Green Lake from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Special handmade holiday gift items will be on sale, including jewelry, fabric art, photos, cards and framed art. Visitors will also get a chance to create their own personalized gift tags and ornaments at the co-op’s “Make It & Take It’’ tables for a very small fee.
After receiving rave reviews from her stained glass class participants, artist Donna Marquart will be back to teach a copper foil method of stained glass in a class titled “Simple Gifts”. This popular technique will be offered on Sunday, November 18 and again on Sunday, December 2, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Town Square in downtown Green Lake.
A new partnership gives Green Lake area residents the opportunity to enroll in Moraine Park Technical College’s “Start Your Own Business” program at Town Square Community Center. This five-week series allows new and established business owners to participate in a business program that offers work/life flexibility.
Town Square Community Center is hosting Arnold Grummer's second annual Midwest Paper Fest through the month of October. This show features handmade paper art from thirteen artists representing seven different states across the United States. Members of the community are encouraged to come, enjoy the art and purchase their favorite piece before the exhibit concludes. In celebration of handmade paper art, resident Artist Tanya Schwartz will be hosting papermaking workshops at a reduced price of $10 per person and include a guided tour of the exhibit through the remainder of the exhibit.
